Broken Promises
I don’t really know what to say. So I’m going to say it as threadbare as the salt laden words pucker my mouth as they fill them: I’m falling behind.
This sprint seemed idillic. Two whole days of reading followed by two more days pair programming to build a real app. The author and Head of Curriculum of Makersquare tested this material with us, an honor and a privilege of course. I own all his books, even if they are free on Github, I read as much of them as I could before school started: at the airport, the park and in line at the grocery.
All I have to say is how disappointed I am with this sprint. It’s a ton of reading, and we’ve blocked out hours in each day to do it. It’s written conversationally, and not like a technical book normally does. Which is fine, when you’re reading leisurely, but the threads of logic are all over the place.
Everything here seems to be in constant flux: the curriculum was added last minute to test it out. More order in books be nice. Or having this as required reading prior to admission and not during time we should be developing.
Edit: Since my attendance this sprint has been removed from the curriculum.
